We are excited to announce that Firstflex Cables has formed a partnership with Phoenix Recycling group, a premium end of life recycler with branches throughout New Zealand. Together, we’re committed to creating a sustainable and environmentally responsible solution for recycling our cables once they reach the end of their use.
Total cable recycling initiative
Our cable recycling initiative ensures that no Firstflex cable ends up in a landfill. Phoenix Recycling is independently Toitu Envirocare Net Carbon Zero certified and has a dedicated electrical cable end of life recycling plant located in Whangarei where the materials will be recovered and repurposed.
Material Separation: Old Firstflex cables will be carefully broken down, separating the copper from PVC.
Copper Recycling: The clean copper scraps will be processed and reused in various applications, contributing to our sustainability goals.
Plastic Recycling: The clean PVC and XLPE pellets will be repurposed for use in projects across New Zealand.
